there are many valid reasons to compare TERFs to fascists but this is one of the most central:
the logic of taking the anger of an oppressed class (e.g. working class / women)
and misdirecting it to a scapegoat who only represents a small percentage of the population and is actually part of that oppressed class and further oppressed themselves on another axis of marginalization (e.g. jewish people / trans women)
by the use of elaborate but also wildly inconsistent conspiracy theories that can be adapted on the fly ( “Jews are trying to replace us” / “trans women are trying to replace us”)
with an emphasis on the idea of the scapegoat pretending to be one of themwhile actually being an inherent outsider(“Jews are pretending to be white to bring our downfall as a nation” / “trans women are pretending to be women to invade our spaces and prevent our liberation”)
and therefore commonly practicing trying to identify members of the scapegoated group via assumed biological ‘tells’ and tracking them
with the ultimate goal being the extermination of the scapegoated group

Whenever I talk about seeking help for mental illness I always get a plethora of “therapists/psychiatrists are shit!!!!”
Do you know how dangerous that mentality is?? Do you know that your words impact whoever reads them? What if someone who desperately needs help saw what you said against it and refused to get help? What if that person ends up killing themselves because they use your words as justification to not seek help? You guys need to really watch what you say. Do not say “oh, psychiatrists don’t know shit” no. Fuck off. Some psychiatrists are bad, yes, but not all of them. Do not use your negative experience to discredit all mental health advisors. It’s fucking deadly.
It’s important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. There’s nothing wrong with “shopping around” until you find someone you “click” with. Otherwise you may not get anything or of your sessions.
